Drawing from personal experiences and a deep connection to the city, I delved into the classic narratives and everyday realities that define the Black Detroit experience.

Growing up just steps away from my grandfather's house, a symbol of generational continuity in the heart of Detroit, I developed a profound appreciation for the city's rich cultural tapestry. After graduating from Wayne State University and immersing myself in the downtown scene, I embarked on a journey that took me across the country and around the world. Yet, through my travels, I remained steadfast in my conviction that there is truly no place like Detroit.

Through meticulous collage work and evocative photography, I shine a light on the city's pivotal role as the birthplace of countless cultural movements and innovations.
